Ahh Goodness

Sometimes the simplest of meals can be the best!

Tonight I grilled some chicken (rubbed with garlic, olive oil, cayenne pepper, curry, crushed red pepper, and salt & pepper). I then cut the chicken into pieces and wrapped them in some loose red leafed lettuce along with some chopped tomatoes...yumm!

Some nice Walla Walla red table wine also helps :)

Two Thumbs Down For Ofoto

DO NOT USE OFOTO.com to print your pictures.

I recently used ofoto.com to print some of my photos. The pictures that came back were off color and too bright.

I called customer service (waited on the phone for the normal 20 minutes) and told them that I was a first time customer and explained the problems I had with the pictures I received. I was told by the customer service rep. that ofoto uses Kodak's Photoperfection software which automatically adjusts pictures before they are printed. I told the rep. that I edited my pictures in Photoshop to get the right color and brightness combination that I wanted. The rep. explained that at this time that there is no way for the Photoperfection software to be turned off before pictures are printed. I then told the rep. that this was too bad because I was looking forward to doing more business with them by printing several 20" x 30" posters. However, since their Photoperfection software could not be turned off I will take my business somewhere else.

However, to Ofoto's credit they did Fed-ex me reprints for free. Unfortunately the reprints were as horrible as the first prints :(

Photoperfection....what a joke!!

Hello Shutterfly - I know I can turn off their automatic photo-correction software :)

Security Botched

Yesterday I tried to increase my home wireless network security by setting the encription on my router.

Well, today I am breaching someone elses unsecured wireless network! Damn, looks like I'll have to give Belkin a call....again.

Yesterday we also had a nice break from the downpours and an absolutely great day for taking photographs. Here's a link to my photoalbum on some pictures I took yesterday from a popular Queen Anne view point:

Seattle pictures

Today I mountain biked near Snoqualmie Falls on the Tokul East trails with the BBTC. There were about 20 us riding a portion of the countless miles of trails. I would highly recommend the area for riding but would caution to go with someone that knows the area well or have strong navigation skills.

Rattlesnake Ledge

This morning I went for a hike at Rattlesnake Ledge. The Rattlesnake Ledge trail is on the opposite side of I-90 from Mt. Si. The trail up to Rattlesnake ledge is a short but a bit steep 2 miles. The trail continues on another 7 miles to a winery, which sounds like a hike I'll be doing next summer!

Here's a link to my photos from the hike: Rattlesnake Ledge Hike
